Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 17, 2025

The Life Insurance Pro (“we,” “us,” “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

This site is intended for people in the United States.

Quick summary (Notice at Collection)

  • We collect contact details, quote request details, device data, and site activity.
  • We use this data to respond to your requests, run the site, improve content, and market our services.
  • We may share data with service providers, analytics and advertising partners, and licensed insurance professionals or carriers that help with quotes or applications.
  • You can opt out of marketing emails and texts. You can request access, deletion, correction, or an opt-out from sale/share or targeted ads where the law gives those rights.
  • We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where required.

What we collect

We collect data in three ways.

1) You give it to us

  • Name, email, phone number, city and state.
  • Quote or application details you type into a form.
  • Health and lifestyle details you choose to share for a life insurance quote.
  • Messages you send us.
  • Marketing preferences and consents.

2) Collected automatically

  • IP address, approximate location, device and browser type, pages viewed, time on site, and referring URLs.
  • Cookies, pixels, tags, and similar tools that remember settings, measure visits, and support ads.

3) From partners

  • Licensed insurance professionals and carriers you ask us to connect with may send status updates on a referral or application.
  • Lead, analytics, or advertising partners may give us aggregated or de-identified insights.

How we use data

  • Provide quotes or introductions to licensed professionals and carriers.
  • Respond to messages and support requests.
  • Send service updates, reminders, and marketing messages.
  • Improve site performance and content.
  • Protect against fraud, security incidents, and misuse.
  • Meet legal, regulatory, and audit duties.

Cookies and similar tech

We use cookies and pixels to keep the site running, remember preferences, measure traffic, and show ads. You can manage cookies in your browser settings. Some features may not work without cookies.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out from sale/share where that category applies to our use of advertising or analytics tools.

Perfect—here’s an updated, drop-in section you can paste into your Privacy Policy. It replaces your prior “Texts, calls, and email” or “SMS Messaging Program” section and adds clear language about email collection and use for carrier review.

Text and Email Messaging Program

Program name: The Life Insurance Pro Messaging
Channels: SMS (toll-free A2P) and email
Purpose: Quotes, application links, reminders, appointment updates, and customer support. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Consent is not required to buy. Carriers aren’t liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Text STOP to opt out; HELP for help.

What we collect for SMS and email

  • Contact: phone number, country code, and email address
  • Consent details: opt-in method (checkbox, keyword text, chat toggle, web form, YES reply, double opt-in for email), date/time, source page or channel, IP address, and user agent
  • Messaging logs: delivery status, timestamps, carrier routing info, unsubscribe/opt-out status, reply keywords (STOP/HELP), bounce data for email
  • Content you send: questions, quote details, and preferences (time zone, language)

How we use phone and email data

  • Send quotes, application links, reminders, appointment updates, and service notices by SMS and email
  • Provide support and answer questions across both channels
  • Record and honor opt-ins/opt-outs, cap frequency, prevent unwanted messages, and keep audit trails for compliance
  • Monitor deliverability, reduce spam and fraud, and improve templates and workflows
  • Match messages to your account or inquiry so we can follow up on your request

Who we share this data with

We do not sell messaging data. We share only as needed to run the program:

  • SMS delivery providers (A2P platforms/gateways) and mobile carriers
  • Email service providers (ESPs) for sending and tracking emails
  • CRM/helpdesk platforms used to route and store conversations
  • Licensed insurance partners only to send service updates you request (for example, an application reminder)
  • Legal/safety recipients if required by law or to protect rights

Providers may store standard delivery logs. They may not use your messaging data for their own marketing.

Your choices

  • SMS: Reply STOP to any text from us. You can also email hi@thelifeinsurance.pro and we’ll process the opt-out.
  • Email: Click the Unsubscribe link in our emails or email hi@thelifeinsurance.pro.
  • Transactional or service messages may still be sent where allowed.

Data retention

We keep consent records, delivery logs, and unsubscribe status as long as needed for service, security, and legal purposes. When no longer needed, we delete or de-identify the records.

Carrier-friendly summary (for your form)

We collect phone, email, and consent details (method, timestamp, source, IP, user agent) plus message logs (status, timestamps, reply keywords, bounces). We use them to send quotes, application links, reminders, and support by text and email, to honor opt-outs, and to keep compliance logs. We share only with our SMS provider and carriers, our ESP, CRM/helpdesk, and licensed partners for service updates. We don’t sell data. STOP for SMS opt-out; Unsubscribe for email. HELP for help.

Sensitive data

Life insurance quotes may involve sensitive data such as health details or date of birth. We use this data only to handle your request, connect you with a licensed professional or carrier, meet legal duties, and secure our systems. We do not use sensitive data for targeted ads.

We are not a HIPAA covered entity.

Children’s privacy

This site is not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child gave us data, contact us and we will delete it. We do not knowingly sell or share data of users under 16.

Data retention

We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes listed above. That includes handling quotes, complying with laws, resolving disputes, and keeping security and audit records. When no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards that are reasonable for a small business site. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Your privacy rights

Your rights depend on your state. You may have one or more of these rights:

  • Know/Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Delete: ask us to delete data we collected from you.
  • Correct: fix inaccurate data.
  • Portability: get a portable copy where available.
  • Opt-out: stop sale/share or targeted advertising based on your data.
  • Limit use of sensitive data: for certain sensitive categories where the law gives that right.
  • Appeal: ask us to review a decision on your request (CO/CT/VA and similar laws).

How to exercise rights

Email hi@thelifeinsurance.pro or use the “Your Privacy Choices” link in our footer (if available). We will verify your request to a reasonable degree. You can use an authorized agent. We will respond within the time the law allows. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision email. We will explain our final decision and how to contact your state Attorney General if you live in a state with an appeal right.

We do not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

California disclosures (CPRA)

  • We collect the categories in Cal. Civ. Code §1798.140: identifiers, customer records, protected class info you choose to provide, commercial info, internet activity, geolocation (approximate), inferences, and sensitive data you choose to provide for quotes.
  • We use and share these categories for the purposes listed in this policy.
  • We may “share” data with advertising partners for cross-context ads. You can opt out by using “Your Privacy Choices” or by sending a GPC signal.
  • We do not use sensitive personal information for cross-context ads.
  • “Shine the Light” requests: contact hi@thelifeinsurance.pro.

State notices (CO, CT, UT, VA and others)

Residents in these states may have rights similar to those listed above. Use the same request methods. For appeals, reply to our decision email and we will review it. If we deny the appeal, we will tell you how to contact your state AG.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send “Do Not Track” signals. There is no common standard. We follow GPC signals where the law treats them as an opt-out from sale/share.

International visitors

This site targets the U.S. If you visit from another country, your data will be processed in the U.S., which may have different laws than where you live.

Our site may link to other websites or use embedded tools. Their privacy practices are their own. Review their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new date at the top of the page. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
